Privacy policy

1. Who we are

Pillar Tech Inc. (“Pillar”, “we”) runs pillarrecovers.com. We are based in Chicago, Illinois, United States. Questions about this policy go to info@pillarrecovers.com.

2. What we collect

We collect only what you give us.

  • The contact form: your name, work email, organization if you add it, the subject you choose, and your message.
  • The early access form: your name, work email, organization, company size, industry, and which of the options you choose (learn more, design partnership, or a letter of intent).
  • Emails you send us, and our replies.

Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs for a short time: the address a request came from, the page requested, the time, and the browser used. We use them to keep the site running and secure, not to identify you.

3. Cookies and tracking

We use analytics to understand how this website is used. Fonts, images and video are served from our own domain, so no third party is told about your visit. If that changes, this policy changes first.

4. How we use what you give us

  • To reply to you.
  • To consider your request for early access or a design partnership, and to run that program with you if we go ahead.
  • To keep a record of what was said between us.

We do not sell your details, rent them, or add you to a marketing list without asking you first.

5. Our legal grounds

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the law asks us to name a basis. Replying to a message you sent us is our legitimate interest and yours. Keeping you informed when you asked to hear more is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. Handling an early access or design partnership request is a step towards a contract with you.

6. Who else sees it

  • Our email delivery provider, which carries messages from the forms to our inbox.
  • Our hosting provider, which stores the site and its server logs.

Both act on our instructions under their own privacy commitments. No one else sees your details unless the law requires it or you ask us to share them.

7. How long we keep it

We keep messages while the conversation is live and for up to two years afterwards, so we have a record of what was said. Early access requests are kept until general availability, or until you ask us to delete them, whichever comes first. Server logs are kept for a matter of weeks.

8. Your rights

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Write to info@pillarrecovers.com and we will answer within thirty days.

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you can also complain to your data protection authority. If you are in California, you have the right to know what we hold, to have it deleted, and to opt out of any sale; we sell nothing. Illinois residents: we collect no biometric data.

9. Security

The site is served over an encrypted connection. Access to what you send is limited to the Pillar team. The forms use a hidden field and a timing check to reject automated submissions, not a puzzle. No method is perfect; if we learn of a breach that affects you, we will tell you.

10. Children

The site is for businesses and is not directed at anyone under sixteen. If we learn that a child has sent us details, we delete them.

11. Where your details are held

Pillar is in the United States, and what you send us is stored and processed there. If you write from the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, that is an international transfer; our providers rely on standard contractual clauses for it.

12. Changes to this policy

When this policy changes, the new version is posted here with a new date at the top. Material changes to how we use what you have already given us are made only with your agreement.
