About Pillar

Built where data protection meets the business.

We’re building the platform that holds both.

Our story

How we got here.

  1. 15+ years

    Infrastructure first.

We spent our first fifteen years in infrastructure: operations, asset management, data protection, enterprise architecture, project management. Data protection spoke the language of infrastructure, and so did we.

  2. Veeam

    Inside data protection.

As a Veeam engineer, then consulting at an enterprise SaaS platform, we watched data protection grow more capable and deepen its integration into infrastructure.

  3. 10+ years

    The other room.

A decade building software in a highly regulated industry and in government put us in the room where the business answers for resilience: audits, continuity plans, exercises. People and process, and it rarely saw what was actually running.

  4. The observation

Two sides of the same coin.

Data protection knows what is running. The business knows what it needs. Nobody holds both, and nobody can keep the join current by hand.

    Data protection knows

    • What was backed up, and when.
    • Whether the job succeeded.
    • Whether a restore point exists.
    • Not which service any of it serves.

    The business knows

    • The service, and who owns it.
    • The recovery commitment.
    • The audit, the plan, the exercise.
    • Not what is actually running underneath.
  5. Pillar

    Where the two converge.

We started Pillar to join them: one map, grounded in what is running and recoverable, translated for whoever is looking.

    Around the table

    • 15+ years in infrastructure operations, asset management, data protection, enterprise architecture and project management.
    • A former Veeam engineer and consultant at an enterprise SaaS platform organization.
    • 10+ years building software in a highly regulated industry and in government.
    • Experience inside a large healthcare organization.
    • 20+ years in legal and privacy.
    • A former CIO and senior VP across infrastructure, operations and applications.
    • 20+ years in IT, with product management in CMDB discovery and application service mapping.
  6. Now

    Design partners.

Pillar is being built with design partners, on real estates, against real recovery commitments.

  7. 2027

    General availability.

Built with design partners first, then open to everyone.

  8. Beyond

A system of record for business transformation.

What we’re building: the before, during and after of every change, grounded in what is actually running and recoverable. Cloud migrations, application upgrades, new services coming online, old ones retiring: every one has a before, a during and an after.

Design partners now. General availability in 2027.
